California Food Festivals Aren’t Going Away…But Some are Delayed!

Around this time of year artichoke lovers plan ways to get their fix. And one of the best ways to do so is the Castroville Artichoke Festival, held in May-June. With COVID-19 circling the world and causing massive shutdowns, things have been kind of rough for artichoke fans, as well as egg eaters, potato lovers, and consumers missing their favorite delicacies as stores run out. Hopefully it’s only temporary, as many food festivals in California have only delayed their normal dates, trying to bring their popular events to the public in later months.

- CASTROVILLE: The Artichoke Festival is rescheduled for August 8-9, 2020 at the Monterey County Fairgrounds
- GILROY: Gilroy Garlic Festival cancelled in 2020 — back July 23-25, 2021
- BEAUMONT: Beaumont Cherry Festival June 4-7
- COVELO: Round Valley Blackberry Festival August 15-16
- DAVIS: UC Davis Picnic Day is cancelled. Back April 17, 2021.
- HIGHLAND: Highland Citrus Harvest Festival cancelled March 28
- KINGSBURG: Kingsburg Swedish Festival May 14-16
- LA HABRA: La Habra Citrus Fair May 1-3
- FALLBROOK: Fallbrook Avocado Festival cancelled in April 2020
- GOLETA: Goleta Lemon Festival September 12-13
- HALF MOON BAY: Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival
