National Arbor Day is held the last Friday in April but in order to get everyone on board with tree plantings according to varying planting zones, California adopted a state resolution which declares Arbor Day as Arbor Week on March 7-14. If you wonder what people and cities do to get on board with the tree cause, here are several programs:

  • Tree City USA: See California list.
  • Tree Campus USA: Help your campus manage and care for trees.
  • Tree Line USA: Learn to use best practices in utility arboriculture.
  • Replanting Our Forests:  Help restore forests
  • Partners in Community Forestry: Join  a nationwide gathering of urban forestry leaders.
  • Rain Forest Rescue: Preserve 2,500 square feet of our precious tropical rain forests today.
  • Community Tree Recovery: Help bring healing and hope to communities after natural disasters.
  • Green Streets: Grants awarded.
