This weekend’s California music festivals offer plenty of free entertainment you can’t pass up!
- Sutter Creek Jug Band Festival on Aug. 22 at historic Sutter Creek Inn is legendary. Hear the sound of South Sac Jooks (middle picture), Jailhouse Stringband and groups who use saucers, spoons, washboards, bottles and ordinary items in musical compositions. FREE!
- Sand City West End Festival with dozens of bands includes Rushad Eggleston (right photo) who hails from Carmel. He entertains on a cello that creates the sweetest sounds ranging from bluegrass to blazing jazz. FREE!
- Stone Soup Street Music Festival in Grover Beach FREE!
- Long Beach Uptown Latin Jazz and Blues Festival (left pictures) in Houghton Park FREE!
