Californians in host cities are jazzed about the AMGEN Tour of California pro-cycling race in May. While there are $millions riding on the event the average citizen wants to share the sensation of breezing through city streets via bikes, trikes and even rollerblades. Much to the delight of participants there have been a dozen or so cities in California testing special street closures, but few have managed to offer the program on a repeat basis. Next week one of the most successful programs, Los Angeles cicLAvia, hosts a day in THE VALLEY on March 6, 2016. A 4-mile stretch of Van Nuys Blvd. between Glenoaks and Roscoe will be car free from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. In San Francisco Sunday Streets closures take place on a monthly basis between April and November this year. Let the good times roll!
