They tell kids not to be bullies, but to love them (the canine kind) is divine, some say. Every February there’s a special kind of love when the Bulldog Beauty Contest brings out the best, brightest, cutest and also the most disabled bullies, in an event featuring 20 categories of dog competitions spanning all breeds, makes and models.

Held at Marine Stadium in Belmont Shore (a neighborhood of Long Beach,) the annul festival actually brings out lots of non-pet owners who come to adore the sweet little creatures strutting their stuff. It’s must-see, pre-Oscars red carpet entertainment in Southern California.

Dog and pet shows, expos and contests are in the works all over state. This weekend you can catch SoCal Pet Con in Anaheim, offering several days of “bring your pet” fun.

Come back to Orange County April 26-28, 2019 for Pet Expo OC at the fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
