Califoria Mission Holiday Celebrations

California’s 21 missions are not operated uniformly so finding the holiday event of your choice may require a little legwork. In fact, if you don’t stay on top of the situation you’ll miss out on ticketed events in which seats and tickets sell out. In 2014 there are Christmas concerts and events at missions spread along the coast from San Diego to San Francisco–a few of them are even free! California Christmas in Missions highlights this year include:
- FREMONT: Mission San Jose Concerts December 6 & 7, 2014 – Mission Peak Singers; December 7 Christmas at the Mission – A Renaissance Holiday
- LOMPOC: Mission La Purisima Concepcion Mass December 8, 2014. Over 500 luminaries lead the way to an evening of candlelight and music observing the 227th anniversary of the founding of La Purisima Mission in 1787.
- OCEANSIDE: Mission San Luis Rey 4th Annual Christmas Concert Dec. 5
- SAN FRANCISCO: Mission Dolores Basilica Choir 23rd Annual Candlelight Christmas Concert Dec. 14
- SAN DIEGO: Mission San Diego. Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá Choir’s 38th annual Candlelight Meditation Dec. 20 and 21. The Candlelight presentation features Seasonal Music and Carols Anew
- SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO: Christmas at the Mission December 6, 2014
- SAN MIGUEL: Cuesta Master Chorale, of Orchestra Nov. 23, 2014
