If you’re into food, California’s the PLACE to be–definitely. It is the NATIONAL & WORLD LEADER in too many fruits, nuts, vegetables and dairy products to mention on this page.

‘Round about February each year the State of California takes stock of its ag situation. Farmers and suppliers gather for annual conventions to scout out the next great products to help increase profits at two major events–Colusa Farm Show Feb.4-6, and World Ag Expo in Tulare Feb.11-13, 2020. If you’re in the industry and not attending these events, you are missing out.

The general public from the surrounding area likes to attend these huge conferences and conventions featuring not only hundreds of vendors and displays, but also great shows to entertain. A smaller conference equally significant to its local community is Sustainable Farm and Food Conference Feb.7-9 in Grass Valley.

While weather comes into play for food commodities readying for market in February and March, the public notices weather when they pay for cut flowers & Valentine’s Day bouquets, fruits, vegetables and dairy products. Sometimes they notice higher prices, and they definitely pay attention when the items they seek are not available due to weather and other issues.

This time of year Californians may smell strawberries in the fields and anticipate not only eating the delicious berries, but attending strawberry festivals throughout the state in upcoming months.

Before you skip ahead to the berry fests, however, you may want to take time for upcoming food & ag events. ENJOY!
