If people like fancy cats so much, why did the publisher of Cat Fancy close the magazine this year after being in existence 50 years (since 1965)? Irvine, Calif. based I-5 Publishing LLC announced recently that Cat Fancy and Dog Fancy magazines are closing and subscribers will receive copies of “catster”and “dogster”. With all the new laws about puppy and cat mills, some animal owners aren’t embracing the pedigree concept quite so much, preferring adoption of strays & mutts solely.
