If you’re a California cowboy or cowgirl, or you want to enjoy the Western lifestyle, wear your bluejeans & boots this weekend and go celebrate California’s great cultural heritage!

  • CALICO GHOST TOWN CALICO DAYS – The annual event on Oct. 3 & 4, 2015 at an old mining town outside Yermo, Calif. includes burro races. You’ve heard that burros can be stubborn–now see it with your own eyes.
  • OAKLAND BLACK COWBOY PARADE & FESTIVAL – African American cowboys were and continue to be very much a part of the Western experience. Don’t miss this event on Oct. 3, city slickers!
  • HELENDALE MOJAVE RIVER TRAIL DAYS – Tombstone Legends, Belinda Gail singing, Dutch Oven Cooking, Pony Rides, Gold Panning, Trick Roping, and all the great shows that made the West famous on the silver screen are featured at this mega-cowboy shindig on Oct. 3 & 4.
