California is also home to a number of national parks hosting events on summer nights such as the Lassen Volcanic National Park’s Dark Sky Festival in August, featuring a special sky watch treat. It takes place annually, as does Point Reyes National Seashore’s Night of Nights always on July 12th. This unique celebration happens as historic Morse code radio station KPH returns to the air in commemoration of the closing of commercial Morse operation in the USA.
