Each year in the Avalon Bay there’s something fishy going on at the end of May. This year it’s bigger and better than ever as the annual Flying Fish Festival celebrates the return of the flying fish. There’s a Kids 1 Mile Flying Fish Fun Run, the Flying Fish Boat Rides and the First Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta. Other highlights include a professional sand sculpture, Taste of the Island event, free ukulele concert and tours of Wrigley Garden.
Other fish events include Lions Fish Fry in Costa Mesa, Dana Point Harbor Boat Show, Convict Lake Spring Trout Derby, and C.A.S.T. for Kids in the Delta. The Grunion are running along the California coast but it’s not open season this weekend.
