Cinco de Mayo Celebrations

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I just finished posting Cinco events in the city where I live (Huntington Beach) and basically, the celebrations aren’t much different from St. Patrick’s Day. DJs, bars, dancing girls, and mega serving sizes of booze…that about sums up what the local party establishments are offering this year. With bands named Skatanic Rednecks and The Originalites, the flavor of this beach celebration is looking like just another day and night of partying– same as any weekend in HB.  However, I made a drive to San Diego for comparison and discovered that Old Town rocks with mariachi bands, dancing and Mexican food to knock you off your feet! When you want to do Cinco de Mayo the best way possible, head toward the border, Chico, Jesus and Maria, and take your sombrero. Although the Old Town Cinco de Mayo event is free admission, you might want to take some dinero, too!
