In these modern, 21st Century times how can something old-fashioned like “Orange Juicing Contest” create so much excitement? The Cloverdale Citrus Fair Feb.17-20, 2017, offers a glimpse into simple pleasures that have endured during the past 125 years since the fair was first held in 1892. With a focus on local agrictulture, the event has changed a little through time, while remaining true to core values and celebration of the finer things in life — such as fresh, locally grown produce, poultry and meats, home arts, and superb wines. Laced in with the farm-focused rabbit shows, pygmy goats and small animal round robins is a smattering of contemporary trappings such as Coolers Rock Band and Dr. Solar, plus the newest carnival rides and midway games.

FACT

  • In 2016 Cloverdale Citrus Fair’s San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition ranked as the largest competition of American wines in the World, breaking records with 7,164 Entries from more than 28 states.
