Come Ride the Train

If you think trains rides aren’t popular, then you need to find one and ride it. You’ll be amazed! With the excitement of the Transcontinental Railroad connecting California to the rest of nation, youth are particularly enamored with train rides and festivals such as Thomas the Train appearing at Roaring Camp Railroads this weekend in Felton, CA. A must-do experience when passing through Santa Cruz County, Roaring Camp offers a summer beach train from the redwood forest to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and a year-round steam engine train ride that chugs its way up to Bear Mountain. Unlike the high-tech, bullet trains in China operated remotely, the conductor often must stop this train to remove debris from the track!

Before fall signals the arrival of the Halloween pumpkin train runs and Santa trains, enjoy summer pleasure rides in Willits, Sunol, Suisun City, Perris, Fillmore, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Fish Camp and Napa, just to name a few. For more practical excursions you can take commercial trains (Amtrak) to Oxnard Salsa Festival this weekend or take the Garlic Train (Caltrain) to Gilroy Garlic Festival.
