It’s time once again to celebrate the Cowboy life at the annual Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival April 13-14, 2019 at William S. Hart Park in the town of Newhall. This free admission event offers incredible entertainment, but you have to pre-purchase tickets for some of the enhanced offerings such as special tours, dinners and concerts that often sell out.

If you think cowboys are out of style just turn on your TV (if you still have one,) and watch Westerns daily — Bonanza, The Lone Ranger and Gunsmoke — are several staples. On Saturdays classic Westerns are broadcast all day long — The Big Valley, Have Gun – Will Travel, Wagon Train, Maverick, The Rifleman, Rawhide, Trackdown — and the list goes on. California’s film studios created and produced these epic shows that continue to entertain fans of the Old West genre more than 50 years later.

For contemporary entertainment that kids and adults can embrace in a hands-on manner, California serves up Western-themed festivals and events such as the Cowboy Festival in Southern California. If you’re looking for fun, here are a just a few…
