The weekend of Oct. 7-9, 2016 is a festive one celebrating many cultures in California.
GERMANS: Oktoberfest is on! If you’re German you’ve been drinking beer and dancing the Chicken Dance for several weeks already. The fun continues through the end of October.
GREEKS: Greek Festivals throughout the state have served up fun all summer long. This week is a big one where Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are known to make guest appearances at the L.A. Greek Fest.
HISPANICS: Although Day of the Dead (Dia de Los Muertos) takes place in several weeks, this weekend you can celebrate with special events in Whittier, Oxnard and Selma.
NATIVE AMERICANS: Pow Wows and Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations take place in San Francisco, San Bernardino, Berkeley and Coarsegold this week.
