From the exciting Camel Races to the Blessing of the Dates, the upcoming Riverside County Fair and Date Festival Feb. 12-21, 2016 is not your ordinary state fair by any means. This year Tyler Kelleher of Beaumont High School was crowned Queen Scheherazade. You may see her during the annual Arabian Nights Musical Pageant filled with authentic costumes, animals and genies. It’s pure magic — and part of an event that includes Ostrich & Camel Races, Country singer Trace Adkins, KC and the Sunshine Band, Cooking with Dates, food, carnival rides, and extreme thrills with WGAS Motorsports, Monster Trucks, Junior Outlaw Sprints and Mini Dwarfs Racing. Do you want some spine-chilling displays of patriotism? The President’s Day Grand Parade marches through the streets of Indio on Feb. 15 at 9 a.m., free to see for all! And veterans with ID can get into the fair for free, along with several guests.
