Got the blues? You’ll be soaring high if you take advantage of California’s diverse activities and attractions. Most go all year long while others are over when summer’s gone.

  • # 1 EXPOSE YOURSELF — To the world’s finest museums throughout California. Many are free to see such as The Getty Villa (pictured) in Pacific Palisades. Note: With a few exceptions, mountain museums typically close in the fall and reopen the next spring around snowmelt.
  •  # 2 FLY HIGH — Take a ride in the open air and blue skies. Pictured is a biplane ride departing with views of the Pismo Beach Pier. Cool. You can ride a hot air balloon, hang glide, or sky dive if that’s more your style. Flying activities are weather-dependent.
  • # 3 CATCH THE LAST OF THE FREE SUMMER CONCERTS — At cities throughout California. Some carry their events into September but most do not.
  • # 4 GET WET AND WORKOUT — Paddle boarding, Stand Up Paddle, Surfing, Skim Boarding, Swimming, Kayaking, Water Rafting, and Fishing are a few ways to stay cool and have fun, too.
  • # 5 THEME PARK THRILLS — There are dozens of new rides, exhibits, attractions and entertainment offerings this year at Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott’s Berry Farm, two Six Flags theme parks, Great America, Gilroy Gardens, Legoland California, SeaWorld, 20+ Water Parks, and 20+ Zoos and Aquariums.
