Get Your Fixx at Santa Cruz Concert

  • The best known bands in free concerts this week and next include The FIXX “One Thing Leads to Another”  at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk  on July 18, 2014 and Brian McKnight performing in Beaumont on July 23.
  • From San Francisco’s Sterns Grove concert with Pupy Y Los Que Son Son and Vieux Farka Touré to LA’s Pershing Square concert featuring Dead Sara and Tonic, the music is varied, the weather sublime, and the fee is FREE at more than 100 concerts in cities throughout California this week.
  • The  music festivals this week in Arcata, Carmel, Hayward, Mendocino, Mammoth, North Trinity Lake, Oceanside, Oroville, Pleasant Hill, Pico Rivera, Piercy, San Diego, Stanford, St. Helena and Tahoe Vista offer great musical talent and spectacular outdoor settings. There’s a music festival seldom more than 100 miles from any place in the state.
  • At the county fairs the talent this week: The Spazzmatics at Napa Valley Expo; Ziggy Marley and Herman’s Hermit’s at Orange County Fair; Mid State Fair features Kid Rock and Demi Lovato; California State Fair in Sacramento features Funkalicious and Apple Z; Lassen County Fair in Susanville features Little Texas and tribute bands; and Stanislaus County Fair in Turlock features Three Dog Night.
