Butler Amusements gets around and that’s no lie! This week they’re happy to be on the road, supplying carnival rides and midway fun to the Holtville Carrot Festival, now in its 67th year. The annual festival with a carnival all weekend includes a Carrot Festival Parade on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, and Family Carrot Cookoff on Feb. 9.

For those unfamiliar with Holtville it is located at the very bottom of the state near Yuma, Arizona & Mexicali, Mexico. The weather is spectacular right now with the weekend temperature expected to be 76 to 80 degrees. RV’ers (snowbirds) head to Holtville in the winter for affordable living, then high-tale it out of town when summer comes around.  From Los Angeles it’s about 220 miles or a 3.5 hour drive to Holtville. San Diego is around 2 hours (150 miles). Obviously most of us will not be visiting Holtville Carrot Festival this weekend, but you can certainly catch up with Butler Amusements at another California carnival or fair.  Their next California events include Cloverdale Citrus Fair February 14-17 and Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival February 14-23 in Indio.
