  • Question? How do you tie Earth Day, Easter and entertainment together in one fun event?
  • Answer! The City of Inglewood, California’s Earth Day Jazz Festival — Renew the Cool.

On April 15 top jazz artists performed free on Inglewood Civic Center lawn, part of a day filled with concerts, food, and informational booths from non-profits such as Heal the Bay, TreePeople and City of Inglewood.  Held the day before Easter, the inaugural event included a musical set that had people on their feet, clapping to the lyrics:

Oh Happy Day …
When Jesus washed …
My sins away…

Why is Inglewood so happy?  There’s a lot to celebrate!

  • Faithful Central Bible Church’s Bishop Kenneth Ulmer delivers a winning strategy with his “Champions” message that celebs such as L.L. Cool J have taken note of.
  • The Fabulous Forum in Inglewood is ranked #1 in California and #4 in the nation for concerts, according to Councilman Alex Padilla.
  • For Inglewood’s 100,000+ residents there are many jobs closeby —  Los Angeles International Airport, 2 miles and 5 minutes by car, served 81 million passengers last year.
  • On the horizon is the new $2.66 billion football stadium for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers NFL teams.
