Welcome to our list of California Easter Egg Hunts, Eggstravaganza Egg Hunts, and Bunny visits. Egg Hunts are celebrated throughout California annually and are usually sponsored by Parks and Recreation departments of cities and municipalities.  Spring brings rain, but it also brings a sense of renewal. Many rites of spring celebrates traditions created hundreds of years ago.

Easter is a holiday that celebrates Spring with events that include mythical bunnies hiding eggs in the grass. In California the spring ritual of the egg hunt takes on many forms. Sometimes the kids have to look in the snow. In some cities in California the kids dive into a swimming pool for an egg hunt. And at the beach, they might have to look in the sand. But most California Egg Hunts happen on beautiful, green grass lawns. The smaller towns still have eggs filled with prizes. Big cities sometimes just dump candy on the grass and call it an egg hunt, though it is really just an event to run and pick up candy. Mission Viejo Easter Fair  - Saturday, April 7, 2012 Time: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost: Free Address: Mount of Olives Church, 24772 Chrisanta Dr., Mission Viejo, CA.  There will be some gourmet food trucks on site, plus a carnival with $5 wrist band for unlimited rides. The event is called Easter in Kid City.  The Easter Egg Hunt if free.

San Diego On Easter Sunday, The Hotel Del Coronado is famous for its fun egg hunts on the oceanfront Windsor Lawn. Kids can also make a variety of arts and crafts at the wonderful Craft Eggstravaganza. The Easter Bunny himself roams throughout the hotel to take photos with hotel and brunch guests.

San Francisco's  Annual Spring Celebration & Easter Parade Sunday, April 8, 2012,  10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parade begins at 2 p.m. Route: Union Street from Gough to Fillmore, San Francisco, CA

The 20th annual event includes large inflatable bounces, kids' rides and games, a climbing wall, a hands-on children's activities area, costumed characters, a petting zoo, a pony ride and entertainment from some of the Bay Area's best musicians. The "Biggest Little Parade in San Francisco" has grown to 45 parade units, and not your average Street Fair. Roller-blading cows, self-propelled mini-floats, and wacky, wild and wonderful costumes and floats make this an Easter to remember.
