Underwater EGGStravaganza  Saturday April 12, 2014, 11 a.m.   ci.bakersfield.ca.us

Bakersfield California, home to beautiful parks and recreational activities, hosts not one, but two Egg Hunts each spring on two Saturdays before Easter Sunday.

The underwater egg hunt is open to egg hunters of all swimming abilities and ages. Held at McMurtrey Aquatic Center, the event allows participants to collect weighted eggs (yes, eggs normally float) and receive surprises for their efforts, though the event is actually tons of fun.

Cost: $5 to hunt, $10 for T-shirt.  McMurtrey Aquatic Center, 1325 Q St, (661) 852.7430.

Festive Egg Hunt takes place among the colorful mushrooms and skillfully decorated backdrops.

Bakersfield enjoys a rich heritage and many traditions celebrated in the city, with some sponsored by the municipality such as the Holiday Lights at CALM and annual Halloween
