Fests Feature Fascinating Lighted Shapes

San Franciscans celebrated their Parol Lantern Festival this past weekend — lighting up the neighborhood with traditional, hand-made Christmas lanterns, or parols. It was whole lot of fun but not so many Californians got to see it. There are larger lantern displays you can get on board with, however, in experiences that take guests around the globe.

- LONG BEACH: Queen Mary’s Alice in Winterland through Jan.8, 2017
- GILROY: Lumination at Gilroy Gardens extended through Jan.8, 2017
- COSTA MESA: OC Winter Fest through Jan.1, 2017. Not so much lanterns, but does contain world’s largest Christams ornament.
