Mardi Gras Parade, Crawfish and Watermelon Eating Contests are just a few of the treats at the annual Long Beach Bayou Festival June 21-22, 2014, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Revelers head for the dance floor to move to the sounds of famed accordion player Jeffery Broussard and an all star line up of Cajun, zydeco and blues bands, No one has to sit it out at this event–dance lessons on the shaded dance floor go on throughout the festival. Long Beach loves music and dance–this particular venue hosts BBQ, lobster, jazz and a variety festivals throughout the seasons. Families bring the kids and spend a day filled with music and entertainment. It’s one of many summer traditions in Long Beach.
