Long Beach Grand Prix News
When you drive along Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach, people tend to weave in and out as if they were on a race track. Oh, they are! These very Long Beach streets overlooking the Pacific Ocean are home to the biggest legal street race in California called Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The event takes place every April and this year the action is on April 19-21, 2013. Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Dancing with the Stars fame is the Grand Marshal for the Celebrity Pro Racing event that launches three days of excitement on Friday. New this year is night-time racing which will help meet demands of those in town who simply can’t get enough.
Concert entertainment on Friday evening features Moderatto and Moenia at 6:45 p.m. and Bret Michaels, same time on Saturday. The new night time races go from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday with many restaurants excited to offer meals and table seating overlooking the course. For tickets, times, etc, see gplb.com!
