This weekend is made for love — and no place is that more evident than the Bulldog Beauty Pageant in Belmont Shore (center photo) or Cupid’s Undie Run (left & right pictures).
Bulldog Beauty Pageant on Feb.11, 2018 includes over 20 contest categories ranging from Most Beautiful Mutt to Best Dog with a Disability. The annual contest is billed as one of the largest such events in the United States. Just one of many loves for founder, Justin Rudd, he spends his entire year creating spectacular events that include fundraising elements for special causes.
Cupid’s Undie Run in Santa Monica on Feb.10 (and Sacramento on Feb.17) is also a fundraiser for special causes. Participants are invited to don their best undies with attire generally no more revealing than lightweight clothes runners would wear in a marathon.
CHOCOLATE FESTIVALS & EVENTS: Look for sweet chocolates with wine and other accompaniments in cities such as Belmont Shore, Clarksburg, Escondido, Fresno County, Livermore, Lodi, Los Angeles and Madera County. PLUS! There’s a bonus sweets event at Anaheim Convention Center called LA Cookie Con & Sweets Show.
LOVE CONCERTS: Romance is in the air with sweets sounds. For a personal experience, hire a barbershop quartet to sing to your loved one. Large scale concerts with the acts who made love famous in song take place in Anaheim, Fresno, Long Beach, San Diego, San Jose, and many more in the week ahead.
ANIMAL ATTRACTION: If you love pets and animals at zoos and preserves, there are zoo-themed events in Dunlap, Long Beach, Oakland, Palm Desert, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, San Pedro and Santa Rosa.
