Hipnics, Blues and Sol Music Festivals

It’s quite a week for music — if you like blues, reggae, indie, bluegrass, jazz, gospel, country, Greek, Swedish and classics. Did we leave anything out?

May Music Festivals

  • DANA POINT: Doheny Blues Festival at the palm-lined beach features Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aaron Neville, Edgar Winter Band, Kid Ramos, The Blind Boys of Alabama and dozens of great acts this weekend, May 21-22.
  • BIG SUR: Hipnic music festival with bands such as The Mother Hips, Skinny Singers, and Little Wings creates magic in the forests with its Liquid Light Show by Mad Alchemy.
  • SOLANA BEACH: At Fiesta del Sol free two day concert many bands are familiar to the SoCal crowd — such as Pato Banton and Common Sense.
  • CAMPBELL: Boogie on the Avenue kicks up the street dust with Kicking the Mule and Whiskey Pass, to name a few.
  • SANTA ANA: Like Totally 80s brings back Martha Davis & The Motels, A Flock of Seagulls and totallyl 80s music during two days of concerts.
  • ANGELS CAMP: Calaveras Country Fair headliner Little Texas launches a weekend of band tributes to Journey, The Eagles and Boston.
