One More Reason to Love California: Lewiston Bridge Lighting

I love California so much that I write about it every day–without pay! Since 2010 I’ve written close to 4,000 postings that have gone out to thousands of subscribers who apparently love California, too. Although I live in Southern California (Huntington Beach) where police sirens are so common you hardly notice, jets fly overhead (from 3 airports) so loud that we can’t carry a conversation till they pass and Disneyland fireworks boom and pop like clockwork at 9:40-9:45 most nights, I love the place. It’s crowded, noisy and the traffic can be really, really bad.

No matter where you live or what your experiences consist of, there’s so much to love, and Californians tend to be optimists by nature, looking for the good in their local communities and state. Lewiston Bridge Lighting & Fireworks is an event that evokes images of community pride and sense of belonging. Imagine standing in the dark with a couple hundred of your neighbors, flicking the switch to light the Old Lewiston Bridge, then watching a fireworks show.  The majestic redwood forests that surround this small community near Weaverville on the North Coast are one of the greatest gifts on Earth that no amount of holiday shopping can match.  In a long bucket list of things to see and do before you die, be sure to visit California’s redwoods–the tallest trees on the planet!
