  • FREE:  GARDEN GROVE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL:  Since 1958 the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival has treated the community to free strawberry shortcake at its grand opening ceremony. The giant Strawberry Cake Cutting event will take place Friday evening, May 24, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Showmobile at Main and Acacia streets. The admission to Strawberry Festival is free! (Arroyo Grande-Central Coast and Vista -San Diego are also having Strawberry Festivals this weekend.)
  • FREE: BEACH PARKING: If you’re heading for OC this Memorial Weekend, the Orange County beaches are guaranteed to be a blast. Of course they’ll be packed!  Swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and bonfire rings are on the A-list. Tip: Stake your bonfire ring when you arrive. Don’t leave it unattended either. The rules of etiquette don’t apply when people get desperate.  For free beach parking, park your car at Huntington Beach City Hall, 2000 Main St. where a free shuttle circles throughout the day to Main Street Downtown and the beach.
  • CHEAP: Ferry boat ride in Balboa (Newport Beach) costs $1 each way, cars are a little more.
  • FEEScotsFest at Orange County Fairgrounds, Knott’s Berry Farm, Soak City, Disneyland, Medieval Times, Pirates Dinner Adventure, Battle of the Dance
