Scenic September Bike Rides
Not everyone is drinking beer, sipping wine, listening to rock concerts and kicking back this weekend. Some live for the challenge of serious bike rides and this first week in September delivers with several spectacular bike rides, races and festivals! If you’re out driving a car on the road and you happen to come across bicycling events, don’t be angry or impatient. Put yourself (mentally) in the bike seat and think about what the participants are experiencing. If you can’t imagine, here are some specs:
1. MAMMOTH LAKES: Mammoth Fall Century and Gran Fondo September 6, 2014 — start elevation of 8,074 feet and 6,879 total feet of climbing
2. PETALUMA: Emigrant Trails Bike Trek September 5-7, 2014 — 3 day bike trek through scenic wine country
3. LAKE TAHOE: Tour de Tahoe September 5 -7, 2014 — Around Lake Tahoe’s (Big Blue) 72-Mile shoreline
