There’s nothing more comforting on a cool winter day than a steamy bowl of clam chowder. Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Festival at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk serves up heaping, hearty clam chowder with a variety of recipes, spiciness and tastes. The event happens each February, but this week head for the Mendocino Coast Crab, Wine & Beer Days 2015. Events include All-you-can-eat Crab Feed Jan. 23 & 24 in Mendocino;  Crab Cake Cook-off in Fort Bragg Jan. 24; All you can eat Crab Feed at Fort Bragg Firehouse Jan. 24; and Crab Feed at Little River Inn Jan. 30.  Bodega Bay Chowder Day on Jan. 31 is a popular event with chefs vying for the best of the best recipes that you get to vote on. Seafood festivals are not limited to beach destinations. Throughout the year you’ll find seafood events in Isleton (Sacramento area), Sebastopol, Klamath and countless other places in California. Here’s a small list of California seafood events.
