Open on Thanksgiving: Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village
Some lament the days when department stores were closed on Thanksgiving Day. But those same individuals contribute to the cause of them being open — namely — online shopping. In 2015 online shoppers outnumbered store shoppers during the four-day Thanksgiving weekend. Target says it is open on Thanksgiving to boosts sales — the big box retailer reported a strong holiday quarter last year, followed by the first drop in sales in two years. Holiday shoppers are lured by low prices, convenience and free shipping. However, some people shop as a form of entertainment in places such as Knott’s Christmas Crafts Village.
