ALAMEDA, CALIF. — What is it with old ships and ghosts? Many swear the Queen Mary is haunted and likewise, the USS Hornet in Alameda. Tales abound from staff who have worked there, visitors on tours & overnight campovers, and investigators of the paranormal who will converge on Aug. 8, 2015 for the annual  USS Hornet Grey Ghost Paracon Conference. The public is invited to attend this special hair-raising fundraiser which includes vendors, exhibits, and free tours, as well as lectures with guest speakers in the paranormal field.  If you seek the full-on immersion experience, spend $125 and the night on the ship sleeping in a real WWII bunk. If you’re one of the millions of people who used to think (when you were a kid) that things were going to reach onto the bed and get you in the middle of the night, be sure not to let your feet & hands dangle from the bunk!
