Seal Beach and Southern California baked over the weekend with the Pacific Ocean offering cool relief. This picture was taken on Sunday afternoon (June 19) from the Seal Beach Pier, which has re-opened even though a burned, former Ruby’s diner building offers a reminder of the recent fire. The pier may be closed intermittently throughout the summer to remove the building and repair the pier’s end portion. If completed to its previous glory, the Seal Beach will continue to be the 6th longest pier in California.
