As rare as the Rothschild giraffe species (the tallest and most endangered of land animals,)  or the “Critically Endangered” Grevy’s zebras, are the one-in-millions couple that set up a ranch in Point Arena, Calif. to help preserve animals quickly disappearing and potentially never being seen again. Judy & Dr. Frank Mello share a love of Planet Earth and commitment to spending their lives saving the most regal creatures on the brink of extinction. B Bryan Wildlife Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the care of our Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, Grevy’s Zebra and Rothschild’s Giraffe.  The animals at the preserve consume 25 bales of hay and 1,400 pounds of grain every week. Throw in vet bills and property costs, and it takes significant funds to keep operating. B Bryan Preserve is run on a skeleton crew of the two owners and one hired worker in order to minimize overhead.  Your stay at the guest cottage and preserve tours help defer the cost of raising these animals, and, you get to see them up close. When you leave, you have a genuine understanding of their plight and the work to save them.
