Thanks to a stellar year of snow in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains there are plenty of waterfalls to see in Yosemite National Park (and elsewhere,) and a spectacular White Water Wednesday on June 19, 2019 in Kernville. This annual tradition invites the public to book their ride for a thrill of a lifetime to “get your pants wet!”
In the April 2019 snow survey performed by California Department of Water Resources, the manual survey recorded 106.5 inches of snow depth and a snow water equivalent (SWE) of 51 inches, which is 200% of average for this location.
This is the fourth snow survey of the water year in California, the only western state to perform this function on its own.
