  • ESCONDIDO/SAN DIEGO: San Diego Zoo Safari Park’s youngest gorilla born by C-section in March, is thriving and growing after a rough beginning.
  • EUREKA: Sequoia Park Zoo’s two Red panda cubs are cute as can be.
  • FRESNO: Fresno Chaffee Zoo Endangered Red Wolf Pups born in May are getting bigger.
  • LOS ANGELES: L.A. Zoo’s snake babies include a litter of five rattle-less rattlesnakes of the venomous pitviper species.
  • OAKLAND: A baby hamadryas baboon named  Mimi is nearly three months old now!
  • PALM DESERT: The Living Desert’s endangered  Grevy zebra foal  born in May will soon be getting a name.
  • REDDING: Turtle Bay recently received a seven-week-old male beaver from the Minnesota Zoo.
  • SAN DIEGO: San Diego Zoo has nine new `alal? chicks  (Hawaiian crows). The birds are extinct in the wild.
  • SAN FRANCISCO: Four Magellanic penguin chicks waddled through the zoo to their new home on Penguin Island last month.
  •  SANTA ANA: Santa Ana Zoo welcomed the birth of twin golden-headed lion tamarins several months ago.
  • SANTA BARBARA: Santa Barbara Zoo’s male giant anteater, the sole survivor in a set of newborn twins, is growing.
