Some California Zoos Open on Thanksgiving

Eating turkey and sitting around the TV are Thanksgiving Day traditions for some, while many also participate in annual Turkey Trots or pre-Black Friday shopping ops. There are California zoos you can visit on Thanksgiving Day, too. Events are subject to change, check before going.
OPEN ON THANKSGIVING 2016
- SANTA BARBARA Zoo hosts an annual Thanksgiving Day Pumpkin Smash.
- FOLSOM Zoo Sanctuary serves up an annual tradition on Thursday, November 24, 2016. Watch special Thanksgiving meals, snacks and treats served to the animals, including pumpkin pie made from a special animal-friendly recipe.
- SANTA ROSA’s Safari West hosts Thanksgiving on the Sonoma Serengeti, reservations a must!
- SAN FRANCISCO Zoo’s Reindeer Romp is in full swing.
