Let's Have a California Holiday Parade!

‘Tis the season to be jolly — and have a parade. Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm both offer holiday parades after Thanksgiving, and cities and communities throughout California also bring joy with their very own, community-focused parade events.

Seen in the photo are girls dressed like Christmas presents for the Huntington Beach Light of Love Parade on Sunday, Dec. 5 in downtown HUNTINGTON BEACH on Main Street. That same day Old World Village in Huntington Beach also is hosting a Nativity Play and Lantern Parade.

Other fun parades that showcase the friendly, small-town atmosphere of California during the holidays include:

TEMECULA - December 3, 2010 Holiday Electric Light Parade travels through Old Town.

SOLVANG - December 4, 2010 Solvang Julefest Parade on Saturday, December 4, 2010 launches at 11 a.m. at Mission Santa Ines, travels west on Mission Dr., turns left on 4th Street, turns left on Copenhagen Dr. and concludes at the Solvang Post Office on Alisal Rd.

FERNDALE - Dec. 19, 2010 Lighted Tractor Parade. Local farmers and ranchers drive fancifully decorated tractors and wagons depicting holiday scenes down the Victorian Village historic Main Street for a sparkling country Christmas celebration.
