Ice returns to the sandy beaches and amusements of downtown Santa Monica in an ice skating rink that invites you to wander the pier, walk on the beach, and skate on the ice. Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade is a great shopping, dining and ice skating venue you won't want to miss when visiting Los Angeles between November and January each year. On the pier there's a Ferris Wheel powered by solar energy, but the coolest part of the ride is being way up high overlooking the Santa Monica Bay and Santa Monica mountains. It is spectacular scenery during the holidays.
