Skandinavian Festival April 16 & 17, 2011 — Festival attendees stood under the oaks Saturday at the Skandinavian Festival in Thousand Oaks when Southern California set records for high temperatures. On the last of the event, there's a breeze and the temps are only in the mid-70s. It is perfect weather to go out and see the cultural feast and sample some of those delicious Aebleskivers. The little oil-fried donuts drizzled with sweet berry flavors and sprinkled with powdered sugar are one of the many taste treats at the annual event sponsored by the Scandinavian American Cultural and Historical Foundation.

Held on the Cal Lutheran Campus, 60 W. Olsen Rd., Thousand Oaks, you can usually find the event in April. Hours: Apr. 16 & 17, 2011 - April 17, 2011, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $7, free under 12 years. -scandinaviancenter.org
