The Summer of Love, 4 Days of Bliss at High Sierra Music Festival

Third Planet Ceremonials from Willits, California, perform their annual magical, mystical giant puppeteer show with colorful costumes and audience participation to the backdrop of four days of some of the best bands on Planet Earth at the annual High Sierra Musical Festival June 30 - July 3, 2011. One of the rare fests where camping is included with admission (bring your sleeping bag!) this annual music festival held in the Sierra Mountains includes an inspirational setting and showcases some of the top talents in musical genres (see line-up) ranging from Indie, bluegrass, jazz, blues and rock to reggae and World music. With four days of constant entertainment, this is one of California's premier music festivals that includes artists who travel the globe performing, appear on popular shows such as Austin City Limits, and provide reasons to fall in love. It's a love affair with music, mountains, and maybe someone you meet or take with you to the low-key, easy spirit show where peacenicks like to go.

Located in the Plumas National Forest, the concert in Quincy isn't easy to get to, but it's worth it. It's 150 miles from Sacramento to Quincy; 530 miles from Los Angeles; 250 miles from San Francisco; 140 miles from Redding; and 82 miles from Reno, NV. If you're flying, then renting a car, Reno Airport could be your best bet for shortest distance and easiest access to the town with less than 2,000 residents. Quincy is located in the High Sierras at approx. 3,400 feet. Daytime temperatures average between 77 and 90 degrees, and night time lows are around 48 -55 degrees during late June and early July when the concert (now in its 21st year) is held.
