The Annual Run for the Grizzlies is a fundraiser for the 3-grizzly family at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo (FOBBAZ) and proceeds will help build a new state of the art and modern grizzly habitat at the new Big Bear Alpine Zoo.

32nd annual Ice Cream Safari  all-you-can-eat Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream in cones, sundaes and floats and unlimited Coca-Cola beverages. Explore the 14-acre zoo with ice cream treats around every corner. Face painting for the kids. Proceeds from Ice Cream Safari benefit maintenance and animal care at the Sacramento Zoo. Food available for purchase at the event. FREE RT shuttles travel  continuously from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm. through Land Park to the Sacramento Zoo entrance.

PALM DESERT National ZooKeeper Week July 17, 2016 - July 23, 2016
Recognize dedicated zoo professionals during the third week in July – National Zoo Keeper Week. In appreciation of zookeepers' service, visitors are invited to sign a thank you poster as they enter the park.  Zookeepers not only interact with animals, feeding them, and cleaning up after them, but also act as educators and wildlife ambassadors, serving to protect and preserve wildlife and vanishing habitats? Zookeepers can have a variety of college degrees in areas like Biology, Zoology, Animal Science or Husbandry to more highly specialized degrees for zoo keeping such as Exotic Animal Training and Management.  stable for future generations. Zoo keeping is not simple. It's not easy, or glamorous and it's not always fun. But zookeepers wouldn't have it any other way.

Kids activities include making thank you cards for our zookeepers, crafts, playing games, and a special scavenger hunt where you can enter to win a Zookeeper Shadow Experience! Kids are encouraged to come dressed in zookeeper attire/costume! The first 100 children ages 12 & under  receive a free train ride ticket for Irvine Park Railroad. Special talk on So You Want To Be A Zookeeper”  at 10:30 a.m.  Parking is $5 per vehicle. Activities are free with paid zoo admission ($2 per person, ages 2 & under free).

The East Bay Zoological Society presents Oakland Zoo's for a benefit like no other. Walk in the Wild, Oakland Zoo's largest annual fundraiser, offers guests an enchanting evening of live musical entertainment, scrumptious dining from the Bay Area's top chefs and restaurants, an impressive selection of regional beers and wines, and dessert and dancing under the stars.
