to mention these Items:
On August 12, 2012, at about 3:50 PM,
residents' called 911 to report a neighbor
had just caught someone breaking into their
vehicle in the area of Florida Street and
Yorktown Avenue. Two neighbors were chasing
the suspect down the street. The suspect got
away from the neighbors while police
officers were responding to the location.
The investigation revealed several residents
vehicles had been broken into and the loss
was purses and other property from the
vehicles.
HB1 was patrolling over Newport Beach and
heard the radio call of the crime. HB1
responded to Huntington Beach and
established a perimeter of the area. The
police officers in HB1 located the suspect
after a short time hiding between apartment
buildings near Hess Circle and Utica Avenue.
HB1 directed the police officers on the
ground to the suspect. He was taken into
custody without incident. The juvenile
suspect was arrested for burglary.

It's The 2012 International
Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (ILLW),
organized by Scotland's Ayr Amateur Radio
Group (AARG). The event, held for the 15th
year in a row. While not a contest, the ILLW
is more of a QSO Party and Amateur Radio
demonstration. The ILLW aims to raise public
awareness of lighthouses and lightships and
the need for their preservation and
restoration, promote Amateur Radio and
foster international goodwill. Stations at
more than 50 US lights are expected to be on
the air for the event, and several stations
will identify with special event call signs.
Participating lighthouse/lightship stations
do not have to be inside the structure or on
the vessel itself; a Field Day-type setup at
or adjacent to the light is sufficient. In
this area, The Point Fermin Lighthouse is
participating at: 807 West Paseo Del Mar in
San Pedro. You can get more Information
