Huntington Beach Beaches:

I'd like to start this newsletter wishing the following people a Very Happy Birthday. They are: Rainbow Environmental Services "Jim" The Jolley Trash Man "Sankey", Huntington Beach Broker Diana Hrouda-Sullivan, Huntington Beach Resident Carol Speaker, Huntington Harbour Republican Woman Member Diana Gadberry and My Relative in Laguna Beach Ron Stock.

Congratulations to Seal Beach 's Newest Mayor Gary Miller and Seal Beach 's Newest Mayor Pro Tem Ellery Deaton. Mike Levitt is now a Seal Beach City Councilman.

If you noticed the King Tide Yesterday in The Sunset Beach Area from Warner and Pacific Coast Highway where cars could not turn on to The Northbound Lanes all the way to Peters Landing it was because of Coastal Flooding. There is supposed to be High Tide again Today and the Road might be effected as well. You could see my photos from Yesterday at: http://www.seecalifornia.com/traveltips/king-tide-causes-flooding-on-pch-in-socal/

The Huntington Beach Police Chief Ken Small's Administrative Assistant Karin Reed asked me to Inform you of this Item:
Huntington Beach- Detectives from the Special Investigation Bureau and Officers from the Special Enforcement Bureau worked with Investigators from the Alcohol Beverage Control to conduct Minor Decoy” and Shoulder Tap” operations in Huntington Beach on November 10th, 2012. Officers and decoys attempted to purchase alcohol from ten different licensed establishments in the city. Five establishments sold alcohol to minors after not asking for identification or looking at their identification and still selling to underage minors. Those who sold to the minor face a minimum fine of $250, and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. In addition, ABC will take administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business where alcohol was sold to a minor. That may include a fine, a suspension of the license, or the permanent revocation of the license. The locations that sold to minors were: Primo Market 17465 Beach Boulevard, M&P Liquor 6029 Warner, Rite Aid 5881 Warner, Seacoast Liquor, 17701 Beach Boulevard, Silvery Liquor 16091 Beach Boulevard #101. In addition to the Minor Decoy Operation, Detectives also conducted a Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation. A Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation targets adults who purchase alcohol for people less than 21 years of age. Two individuals agreed to buy alcohol for minors. The penalty for furnishing alcohol to a minor is a minimum $1000 fine and 24 hours of community service. Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) through the department's Grant Assistance Program.

The Huntington Beach Public Works Department Construction Manager Eric Charlonne would like to remind you of this:

Christmas and New Year Holidays Affect Trash Collection and Street Sweeping
Trash Collection
Trash will be collected per regular schedule on Christmas Eve, Monday Dec. 24 and on New Year's Eve, Monday Dec. 31. There will be no trash collection on Christmas Day and New Year's Day so trash collection from Tuesday through Friday each holiday week will be delayed one day. Residents on Tuesday's route should place their trash for collection on Wednesday, and so on, for the entire week. Friday's route will be collected on Saturday.

Street Sweeping
Street sweeping is cancelled from Monday, December 24 through Tuesday, January 1 due to the Christmas and New Year holidays and the City Hall holiday closure. From January 2 through January 4 street sweeping will be on holiday routing due to trash carts at the curb one day later than usual. Neighborhoods that are impacted by trash carts at the curb will not be swept. Neighborhoods that can be efficiently swept will be swept per regular schedule. Example: where trash is collected from a rear alley. No street sweeping tickets are issued during the Christmas/New Year holidays. The regular street sweeping schedule with parking enforcement will resume on January 7. Routes cancelled due to holiday scheduling are not made up.

If you have questions about the holiday maintenance schedule, please contact the Public Works Maintenance division at 714-960-8861.
