HBPD Requests Information on December 22 Incident On December 22, 2013, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Huntington Beach Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a residence reporting a woman in her 60's who appeared to have been badly beaten. The residence is located in a large condominium complex in the area of Beach and Adams.

Thomas Clifford Johnson of Huntington Beach has been arrested in connection with this investigation. Detectives do not believe at this point there is any ongoing threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing and there are no additional details being released at this time.

If you have any information regarding this case, please contact Detective Steve Wickser on the HBPD Tip Line at 714/375-5066 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at crimestoppers.org or 1-855-847-6227.

Huntington Beach Public Works Department Construction Manager Eric Charlonne says: Post Holiday Christmas Tree and Cardboard Recycling Rainbow Environmental Services is offering free post-holiday recycling of non-artificial Christmas trees and cardboard cartons. Rainbow will pick up Christmas trees and any flattened cardboard cartons that are placed next to the trees from January 2 through January 15, 2013.

To recycle your tree, simply remove all ornaments, hooks, light strings, tinsel, and stand, and place it next to your carts on your trash day. Flatten cardboard and place next to trees. The automated trucks are not collecting trees so please do not block access to the carts and do not put Christmas trees in your carts. Larger trees should be cut to six-feet maximum. Multi-family, condo and townhome residents with commercial service (blue dumpster) should place trees to the side of the dumpsters, not in front or on top of the dumpster. Check with your property manager or HOA for other restrictions.

After January 15, tree pickups will have to be scheduled as a 10/4 Pickup arranged directly through Rainbow Environmental. For further information, please contact Public Works Trash and Recycling at 714-375-5010 or Rainbow Environmental Services at 714-847-3581.
