Aliso Beach Park, South Laguna Beach

Aliso Beach Park 31131 S. Pacific Coast Hwy. Laguna Beach, CA 92652 ocparks.com Open: Daily 6 a.m. - 10 p.m. A concession building offers food and beverages (seasonal hours.) Restrooms are located at beach.

Parking consists of pay and display parking $1/hour year round. Or, an annual County beach parking decal, available at the Sailing & Events Center (949) 923-2215 in Dana Point Harbor.

Set at the bottom of a hill next to a bridge and stream which runs to the beach, Aliso Viejo Beach is part of Laguna Beach beaches, even though its name is recognized as an inland city name in Orange County. The beach is accessible from the west side of Pacific Coast Highway but not easy to get to from inland traffic which moves swiftly around the bend between South Laguna and Downtown Laguna Beach.

The beach overlooks another beach favorite at the base of Montage luxury beach resort which has similar parking but stair or ramp access. Aliso Beach is flat sand access and easier for families with children, especially because there's a kids' playground to entertain the youngsters.

Activities include skimboarding, swimming, surfing, skin diving and paddle boarding all take place in the waters off Aliso. Sunbathing, tidepool exploration (look but don't touch) and sand castle building are also beach related activities.

Fishing or the take of any marine life is not allowed at Aliso Beach Park.
