Doheny Beach, Dana Point, California Info

Doheny Beach is a coastal region of Dana Point popular known for its camping, beach meeting space, special events, and fun location overlooking and near the Dana Point Harbor. Operated by California State Parks, Doheny Beach offers one of the friendliest parks locations for vacations and events.

Doheny Blues Festival (omegaevents.com) is a 2-day music festival at Doheny State Beach that includes top acts in the blues genre on grass lawns overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Other events include the annual Grunion Run and Grunion Night in April. Guests bring lawn chairs, flashlights, and they watch the grunion arrive on the beach in an exciting arrival that's strictly a "watch only" affair during the no-hunt season. Southern California Woodie Club and Car Show, Lobsterfest, Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza, Surf-A-Rama, Whitey Harrison Classic Outrigger Race, Battle of the Paddle and Doheny State Beach Haunted Campground are a few events locals and vacationers love. You can also wander over from Doheny Beach to the harbor for whale watching cruises, Christmas boat rides with Santa, and the huge, annual Whale Festival and and Parade.

Doheny Beach includes picnic tables, BBQs, public restrooms with outdoor showers, sand volleyball nets, and public parking near all the great facilities.
