Big News from the North Pole: Santa will be back on Christmas Tree Lane during 2025!
Thompson Avenue between High Street and Fernside Blvd. The Lincoln Middle School band will be back on Christmas Tree Lane
Christmas Tree Lane is lit up, continuing a tradition which began in 1938 with many lights and displays, and fanfare with scheduled performing groups, and Santa's mailbox available for letters to the North Pole. Over 50 homes participate in this annual event, providing free entertainment for the public to enjoy as guests snap, tap and click photos for posterity.
In addition to unannounced appearances by Santa Claus, kids can leave their Santa wish letter in a mailbox for North Pole delivery. Visitors have reported actually hearing back from Santa!
If the holiday celebrants visiting from the Bay Area and beyond weren't enough excitement to create a buzz, local performing arts groups have entertained crowds. Past performances have include: Lincoln Middle School marching band on the Lane, Alameda Adaptive Arts Caroling and Alameda Education Foundation String Ensemble.
